Gorsedh ceremony in Bude postponed to 2021 due to COVID-19

With great regret, the Grand Bard of Gorsedh Kernow, Elizabeth Carne, Melennek, has announced the postponement of the annual Esedhvos Festival and Open Gorsedh Bardic Ceremony, which was due to be held in Bude-Stratton in September 2020.

Unfortunately, with the current situation and the possibility of social distancing remaining in place for the rest of 2020, it has been decided that it will be impossible to hold the event this year.

The Grand Bard said, ”We are extremely disappointed, but looking forward to being in Bude next year.”

The decision has been made in consultation with Gorsedh Kernow Council and the Mayor of Bude, Bob Willingham, who has confirmed that they will be very happy to host the Gorsedh in 2021 instead, as a great deal of preparation has already taken place.

Mr Willingham added, “We are very sorry we will not be hosting the 2020 Gorsedh Kernow Esedhvos, but will see you all in 2021.”
