The MAGA dictionary is now online. Launched officially on the European Day of Languages, the dictionary is fully searchable. The dictionary contains over 10,000 words and is intended to develop in the future both in the number of entries and in the information given about each word.
Councillor Julian German, MAGA Chair and Cornwall Council cabinet member for economy and culture, said: “Many more people are taking an interest in the Cornish language now and this dictionary is an excellent resource for learners and those interested in finding words in Cornish.
The recent resolution from the European Parliament, which emphasised the importance of promoting and protecting smaller languages, was very welcome and we believe that providing resources for learners is an important part of that work.”
